They are a good place to start if you a newbie to the lifestyle and even still good for those who have been around awhile. Just click on the book cover to go to amazon to purchase it!

Non-FictionDifferent Loving

Different Loving is a different kind of book. It is a bunch of different stories about the experiences of various people. I think just about ever kind of kink is covered in this book.

It can give you a big clue that you aren't alone in the universe. As many of us know living in an alternative lifestyle can make you feel very alone, this book makes a very real effort to show you that you aren't alone. The Loving Dominant

The Loving Dominant is written by a real time Dom and does a good job of addressing a bunch of stuff including the how to's of lots of stuff. I think I read it at least twice and I think Sir did too. Since then I think my copy has been on loan to darn near everyone I know. The author also wrote some BDSM fiction but I wasn't overly impressed with it but then again it didn't suck either.

Screw the Roses, Give Me the Thorns is taken from a lighter view but the Screw the Roses information is still very good. I have actually had the pleasure of meeting one of the Authors, Molly Devon at a few events and she has also come to visit at Apex. It is a very good source for all the different areas of BDSM including stuff about the people on the net who are doing the lifestyle electronically instead of real time. It give info on what to watch out for and is really a good basis for safe, sane and concensual behavior. It has a little of everything in there. And it is another book I have loaned to friends over and over.

SM 101

SM 101 is the classic guide to SM activities. If you haven't read this book you should! And you should read it now! I didn't read it for many years in the lifestyle. I don't know I guess I just thought it was going to be too hard core. But a friend had a copy laying around and I finally got around to reading it. It is a very good book. It address just about everything you might need to know to start out and is good food for thought even if you have been in the lifestyle forever. I got the chance to meet Jay Weisman in San Francisco at the 2000 Folsum street fair. He knew my friend Susan...everyone one knows Susan. Erotic Bondage He was a very sweet man...and you know what to look at him you couldn't even believe he could write these kind of books...LOL yep I suffered some of that hero worship in there. I also got his next book while I was there and had him sign it for both Master and I. Erotic Bondage Handbook .Since then Master has used the bondage book many time and I have to say I am so glad cause it has been huge amounts of fun too!! Got to get both of these books you will be so glad you did. But if you get the bondage one, promise you will write and tell me the wonderful things you discovered in there. Sharing is so much fun!

Miss Abernathy'sMiss Abernathy's Consise slave training guide will really rock your world or it sure could. It takes on the job of really trying to define what being slave is all about and how that means this person should act. It goes well beyond the simple stuff of presenting the slave but also goes into all the stuff about the philosophy end of thing. I really thought it was a good book and Master got some great evil ideas from it too. We wanted to get the work book too but have had a hard time finding it without paying full retail, LOL. Okay we like to save money. Now that our funds should be a bit better off I am hoping we can find a copy of it.

Fiction

My favorite and I think Masters too when it comes to S/M fiction books. We have both read the Marketplace series by Laura Antoniou. If I were you I would read them all and read them in order and just enjoy. Some of the characters you will love and others you will want to shoot but I would bet there is at least one of them that you will be able to identify with. The Marketplace

The first book is the Marketplace. It is about 4 slaves who go into their first training to join the market place.

The Slave The Slave. This one was my favorite...probably because it was about just one slave and her journey into the marketplace and her first owners. It actually does a pretty good job of giving what it is like to move into the lifestyle from those first time feelings about BDSM.

The Trainer

The Trainer is the third book. I can't say this one is my favorite I like but it is really hard to not want to shoot the main character, he is just such a fool. On the other hand we all know fools in the lifestyle who need to learn more. Laura is also working on a re-write of this book and will be republishing it very soon. Which is why it is actually hard to find this book on the market right now, it is out of print.

The Academy The most recent book is The Academy. This is one of my favorites too. She goes back and does a lot of history on one of the characters that has been a mystery since the first book. It also really sort of makes you cheer for all the changes that the people go through and darn but it makes you want the next book to be out now cause you want to know what happens next darn it.

She is supposed to be putting out the next book soon too. I am really looking forward to it. If you have any problems finding these books on Amazon go directly to the publisher for it. Just go to Mystic Books.

Sleeping Beauty Trilogy

I would be willing to bet that most of you have heard of or read the Sleeping Beauty books by Anne Rice. I have read them and liked them but then I am an Anne Rice fan so it wasn't a hard sell for me. However let me just say if you are looking for "real" BDSM skip these books they are pure fantasy. There is just no way any normal humans could go through all these people do! But damn it is fun to let the mind wander through it with them. If you have a thing for pony play these books are just fantastic. If however you can't deal with humiliation on any level then don't go there.

The Outlander These next books aren't really BDSM per say but they really do have a bunch of D/s in them and really I just love these books I have read through them a few times since I first got ahold of them. And I am biting finger nails waiting for the next book to come out.

The first book is the Outlander. If you are a nut about Scottish history you will get lost in the a world and enjoying it big time.

You will understand how very much I love these books when you understand that eaDragonfly in Amberch of them is well over 500 pages each. But I loved the characters and the story. Even Master loved these books even though most of the time you would never see Master or I getting anything from the romance section, a friend told us about these and we were hooked. Usually Master and I get our reading material from the fantasy/ sci-fi section of the store.

Voyager The second book is Dragonfly in Amber where our wonderful couple go to Paris and get all involved in politics and sin in the big city. Drums of Autumn

The third book, Voyager, takes them off to the Caribbean Islands then onto America. Yep takes this big sensitive Dom type scottish man and makes all the woman swoon...he is so very sexy.

The forth book, Drums of Autumn has lots of their adventure in America but it isn't the darn end of the story and that is what is making me nuts...I know there is more and I want more but she hasn't put it out yet!! Oh the hell of reading a series of books. But the next one is supposed to come out soon!

That is it for now and should I run across any more books I will be sure to let know and if you are looking for websites to check out then head over to the links section for lifestyle links to go see.
